How much does an epoxy floor cost in Sydney?

A useful quote depends on the condition of your concrete, preparation and repairs, the system specified and site access. Floor area alone cannot give a reliable like-for-like price. Ask for an itemised scope before comparing totals.

What changes the quoted scope?

Two garages of the same size can be priced very differently. The slab usually explains why.

Floor area and shape
Larger areas usually reduce the cost per square metre because setup, travel and mixing are spread further. Nibs, steps and alcoves add edging time.

Existing coatings
Paint, sealer or failed epoxy must be ground off. Thick or rubbery coatings take considerably longer to remove.

Slab damage
Cracks, spalls, pitting, lips and old patch repairs need filling and grinding before coating.

Moisture
Where moisture is suspected, testing and a moisture-tolerant primer add a layer to the system.

System and finish
Flake, solid colour and metallic systems involve different steps and materials. The topcoat choice matters too.

Access and conditions
Stairs, distance to parking, power availability, weather and cure times affect labour and scheduling.

Timing
Short-notice or after-hours work can limit product choices and increase labour cost.

What should I compare in two epoxy quotes?

What should I send for an accurate quote?

Approximate measurements, or single / double garage
Photos of the whole floor and any damage
What is on the floor now: bare, painted, sealed or coated
How the space is used, and any timing constraints
Finishes you like

Why can quotes differ?

Ask each installer how the slab will be prepared, how cracks and moisture are handled, how many coats the system includes, and what return-to-service guidance applies. A lower price with a chemical etch or light clean instead of mechanical grinding is not the same job.
